Frequently Asked Questions

The most frequently asked Questions are in regard to opening the downloaded files:

  1. “I have received my download link and downloaded the file, but my computer does not recognize the file type. How do I open the file?’

  2. “Where do I find the software to open this file type with a ".rar" extension without having to pay a fee for it?”

Answer:
I have to use a zip format when there are more than one file for a pattern purchase. If your download consists of a WinRAR zip file,
it can be opened with WinRAR or 7Zip – if you do not have 7Zip installed on your computer, click HERE for a free download of this software

When the download window pops up, select “SAVE” and save it to your ‘desktop’. It is not a large file and the download does not take long.

Double click the new icon on your desktop and choose “RUN” to install the software on your computer. Confirm the install location - the standard destination folder is C:\Program files\7-Zip\ and click on “INSTALL”. To open the file, there are a few options depending on your set-up i.e. your version of Windows:

 - Right-click the ".rar" file > 7-Zip > extract here
 - Right-click the ".rar" file > 7-Zip > open archive
 - Right-click the ".rar" file > 7-Zip > extract to – choose where you want to save the files
